The Women's Group meets monthly at 7:30 PM in member homes. We welcome all women to attend. The group is led by Meg Artuso, and has been meeting for the past three and a half years.

Recently, we have taken 2 Corinthians 12:9-10: "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness" as a starting point. We have expanded our study with "Ways of Imperfection" by Simon Tugwell O.P. where we used the writings on imperfection by Barsanuphius and John, Jean-Pierre de Caussade, several Desert Fathers, and Therese of Lisieux as the basis for our contemplation. Our goal is to grapple with these ideas, share our experiences and insights and apply what we can to our own lives.

The Women's Group takes different topics and studies them over a period of weeks. We have looked at Confession, Fasting and Spiritual gifts. We have studied the virtues by way of the passions. Looking at the pitfalls and temptations we encounter as we try to take on the virtues. Our guide was St. Theophan the Recluse and his translation of Unseen Warfare. This book proved timely given the attack on 9/11 when it became painfully apparent that we are in a spiritual battle and if we are going to pray for peace in the world we need also to face the battle within ourselves. We then moved into lighter fare with anger, judgment and reconciliation as our focus. These are three things that we all face in Community. Our ability to acknowledge our anger and judgment and then to deal with them helps us to practice the sometimes messy but always blessed art of reconciliation.

Each group begins with prayer then we have a discussion/contemplation of the text either from the Bible, a spiritual writing from the Church Fathers or Mothers or a contemporary writer related to our topic. We share our insights and our life experiences in order to deepen our spiritual understanding and to allow the Holy Spirit to teach us and uncover the areas in our lives that need changing. Spiritual transformation may be the goal but the deep bonding as friends and sisters is the great treasure. We end the group with evening prayers and intercessory prayers for those in need, our world and Mother of God Mission.

Please come and join us as we journey together on our spiritual path.
